2021 Summer Internship Verifiable Certificate in IT and Data Science, June 2021 – August 2021
LPBI’s IT and Data Science problem solved:
Problem definition:
To extract the views for each of the 6,000+ articles for different time periods. Must be done in a time-efficient manner that retrieves the necessary data for LPBI.
Conceptual solution:
Create a multiple-step process that involves web scraping the data in multiple processes to enhance the speed of the extraction, and use data analysis libraries in Python to format the data in the correct format.
Code Implementation: https://pharmaceuticalintelligence.com/sop-web-stat/

MAJOR PROJECTS:
“AI Detection of Epileptic Seizures”, Oct. 2020 – Present. The purpose of this research project was to use deep learning (DL) algorithms to develop an RNN model that could analyze live EEG data as a prototype for a home-care system that can immediately detect and report oncoming seizures in patients with chronic seizure disorders, including petit and grand mal epilepsy.
Collaborators: Abhisar Anand, Srinivas Sriram
Code: https://github.com/AbhisarAnand/Epileptic_Seizure_Detection
Paper: https://tinyurl.com/SeizureRP
“Occupation Tracker”, Jun. 2020 – Present. This project is able to keep track of how many people are in a building at any given point in time. If the current count of the people in the building exceeds the CDC Guidelines for public gatherings, an alarm will play, notifying the people who are attempting to enter that the max occupancy of the building has been reached and to wait until there is space available.
Collaborators: Abhisar Anand, Srinivas Sriram
Code: https://github.com/srinisriram/Occupancy_Tracker_ENTRANCE.git
“Mask Detector”, Jun. 2020 – Present. After “Mask_Pi”, our team developed a reliable algorithm that can perform necessary actions for businesses and companies who want to make sure that the people who are entering the company are wearing a face mask.
Collaborators: Abhisar Anand, Srinivas Sriram
Latest Code: https://github.com/AbhisarAnand/Mask_Detector_v2.git
Previous version: https://github.com/srinisriram/Mask_Detector.git
“Car Speed Detector”, Jun. 2019 – Present. This project involves setting up a camera near a road (attached to a window with a clear sight of the road), and monitoring the speed of the cars that drive on the road. If the car exceeds the speed limit (predefined), then an email alert is sent to people who can do something about it.
Collaborators: Abhisar Anand, Aditya Anand, Arjun Sikka, Srinivas Sriram, Sriram Sridhar, and Rajesh Singh (mentor – adult permission to set up product in 4 different locations in the neighborhood)
Code: https://github.com/ssriram1978/car_speed_detector
“Drivector”, Apr. 2020 – Present. A cost-efficient, simple to set up, and effective product that limits the distractions faced on the road. This business concept and real-life product notices that the driver is distracted in an instant and a loud alarm will continue to play until the driver is no longer distracted. Detects drivers who are looking away from the road, drivers who are unalert (being drowsy/sleepy), and drivers using a device.
Collaborators: Abhisar Anand, Kush Gami, Srinivas Sriram
Code: https://github.com/srinisriram/Drowsiness-Detection.git
