Summer 2020 Plan – Research Associates Tasks

  • Till Training in NLP, ML and AI starts in 7/2020 – will work on Project #3: Update the Twitter Analytics for our two handles @pharma_BI and @AVIVA1950
  • Will use Twitter API to design Twitter Analytics visualization and data analysis of 1,000 Followers’ data for two Twitter handles to estimate the impact by retweets and map followers by type: Institutions (Media – Yes/No) vs Individuals, all categories by their number of followers

INTERIM PERFORMANCE EVALUATION UPON COMPLETION OF 3 MILESTONES:

Demonstrated high energy, resourceful initiatives, leadership and team building skill. Ability to explore and learn new skills and drive to embrace technical challenges in multiple areas. FINAL PERFORMANCE EVALUATION UPON COURSE COMPLETION:

In Summer 2020 Daniel joined LPBI as Research Assistant 4 and Core Applications Developer.

Of note, are three major domains of significant contributions to LPBI:

  • IT Projects

Daniel completed two projects both requiring coding, data organization and analytics and Database management.

All tasks were accomplished at exceeding expectation level.

  • Captain of the 2020 Summer Internship

Daniel extended himself to streamline processes, to simplify workflow and to motivate and assist all members of the 2020 Summer Internship. Daniel demonstrated being achieve-oriented, exceedingly a hardworking young adult, beyond the call of duty. The attitude of go getter, sleeved rolled up at all times, functional and agile 24×7, all will be recognized immediately in his future emerging career. Leadership role is on Daniel’s horizon in the near future.

  • Research in Data Curation and Data Annotation

A genuine inquisitive mind, quest for scientific knowledge and good foundations for further professional enhancements, as future decisions on job selection and graduate studies will be made. Encouraged to pursue mentorship plan for self and mentoring others. Impressive potential for professional growth.

  • Played an integral role in the fabrication of our device for presentation

Bioengineering Final Project – Fall 2019

  • Worked in a team of six to research biological and engineering principles involved in a topic of our choice
  • Assumed a leadership role on my team and researched the engineering principles involved in generating a humanized antibody drug and read numerous medical research journals to generate sufficient data for my group
  • Presented on this topic to a class of sixty via Powerpoint

Biomaterials Final Project – Fall 2019

  • Worked in a team of five to devise a biomaterial treatment strategy for glioblastoma
  • Assumed a leadership role on my team and used my background knowledge in cancer research and knowledge of biomaterials to propose a solution and recommendation for my group consisting of a low molecular weight hyaluronic acid injectable hydrogel with Carmustine
  • Presented on this topic to a class of sixty via Powerpoint

Electrical Engineering Project – Fall 2019

  • Constructed digital circuits necessary to rewire and ‘hack’ an RC car
  • Created a successful model of an RC car that backed up and changed directions in the presence of obstacles

  • Processed WordPress.com Website Views data on +6000 articles using Python and Excel for generation of the input to a prediction model using Markov Renewal Process by another senior scientist affiliated with the Team
  • Facilitated communication between LPBI and WordPress.com customer support for the clarification of a critical counting definition related to Views by External e-Readers visiting the website PharmaceuticalIntelligence.com
  • Was Assigned as Team Captain for a team of four Interns during LPBI’s 2020 Summer Internship in Data Curation and Data Annotation, an eight weeks program. The role involved daily mentorship and weekly operations management functions

  • Designed a touch-sensitive sensor via Arduino made to change the brightness of a light bulb
