Dr. Lev-Ari’s contributions to CTB’s Research Department include the following, but are not limited to A to K:
- Dr. Lev-Ari deployed her own design for a collaborative computing environment for the entire Research department (Microsoft SharePoint).
- Dr. Lev-Ari commissioned a study that allowed CTB to reduce the delivered errors in Scoring to a Client by 400%. As a result of this study, IDF # 1 by GB emerged, an improved NEW operational Scoring algorithm for CTB. Dr. Lev-Ari designed the plan for code development in ‘C’ and supervised the entire development process using a project management and scheduling tool used for the first time in the Research Department 1/2003 – 4/2003. She brought the project to deployment readiness in Technology and QA Departments at CTB/McGraw-Hill.
- Dr. Lev-Ari developed a method called Harshness Scoring Index (HSI) to compare the Accuracy of CTB’s Scoring Technology against the ES benchmark. A parsimonious graphical representation of discrepancies in student scores was developed by a scientific programmer under her guidance
- Dr. Lev-Ari brought to successful completion a PPA funded project executed by an external Vendor for software development and GUI for Item Calibration and Ability Estimation
- Dr. Lev-Ari designed a Master Plan the new RDAS, IDF # 7
- Introduced the Simulated Annealing algorithm to Item Response Theory, IDF # 3
- Dr. Lev-Ari launched a major Data Flow Process Reengineering, IDF # 6
- Dr. Lev-Ari recruited the Research Data Architect for CTB’s Research Department
- Dr. Lev-Ari developed a concept for Sequential Item Selection in CAT, IDF # 8
- Dr. Lev-Ari suggested development of code for computation of scores on distinguishable vector responses, only, implementation in Pascal code by GB and in SAS code by JT in 2002
- Dr. Lev-Ari organized the one-day agenda for 5/22/2003, the visit of Prof. Wim van der Linden at CTB, one of the World top living psychometricians, being familiar with his work before joining CTB, and co-hosted the event with Dr. Patz
